Position Overview
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Linux systems and security to join our infrastructure team. You will be responsible for building reliable, scalable, and secure environments that power our EdTech platform. The role combines classical DevOps practices (automation, containerization, CI/CD) with a strong emphasis on system hardening, authentication, and secure infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, support, and troubleshoot Linux servers (primarily Debian-based).
- Harden systems using CIS benchmarks, firewalls (iptables/nftables, AWS Security Groups), and automated patching pipelines.
- Develop automation scripts (Bash/Python) for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
- Design and maintain centralized authentication systems; configure SSH with LDAP and OIDC providers (Okta, Auth0, Azure AD).
- Enforce least privilege through structured access management and reviews.
- Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker; contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Collaborate with developers, security engineers, and product teams to ensure secure, efficient infrastructure operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps or Systems Engineer with a focus on security.
- Strong knowledge of Linux administration and hardening (Debian preferred).
- Experience with authentication/authorization systems (LDAP, OIDC).
- Hands-on expertise with Docker; Kubernetes is a plus.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in distributed teams.
